This year, approximately 17,600 women in Victoria will be diagnosed with cancer, and around 5,200 will die from the disease. More than 5,300 Victorian women will be diagnosed with breast or gynaecological cancer.
However, thanks to wonderful generosity like yours, the rate of women dying from cancer is declining. Since 1994, the rate has been consistently decreasing by 1.4% per year.
By living a healthy lifestyle and participating in recommended screening programs, women can significantly reduce their risk of developing cancer and increase their chances of discovering it early.
As a breast cancer survivor , at the time on my social media alone , surprised was I to get messages , Merrilyn , I had breast cancer also ' 4 friends at least ..... so why not raise funds for something I survived but many do not . We need to find the causes of these cancers , in my time alone in lockdowns I watched many pioneers in health , the power of nature , the power of keeping our nervous system calm to prevent inflammation that can lead to cancer . I plan to have my own podcast one day as i know much more of the stresses on our bodies , toxins , healing after surgeries ...... hope you will dig deep or just a tad to help me reach my goal . I had two scans to rule out secondary breast cancer on my spine , do you know how scary that was ? It was a damaged nerve but I could be dead if it had spread . Many thanks .Mez
