Peachy Keen Oaks Day

By Mandy Polan

I’m hosting a Girls’ Night In to help all Victorian women affected by cancer

Cancer sucks, it doesn't care about gender or age, where it attacks and when.  I have lost many family members to cancer and am so passionate to raise funds to help find a cure.

This year  alone I have lost two family members to very aggressive cancers.  My cousin had a back pain for a few months and just thought he had hurt it at work.  Finally the pain was so bad he went to the emergency department.  Unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer throughout his body and never left the hospital he was only 54.

My Aunty had a form of bowel cancer removed and post surgery for nearly 12 months kept bringing issues to her surgeon who was dismissive.  In February she finally got a referral for scans.  On the way to my cousins funeral where she was speaking she received a call from the surgeon to state it had come back and he needed to see her urgently on Monday.  She was gone in less than a month.

Two awesome people have left this life too early.

Come and join me in raising money to help find a cure.
