I’m hosting a Girls’ Night In to help all Victorian women affected by cancer
My name is Georgia Irvine and I am a Residential Education Coordinator at La Trobe University. Like everyone this year, Girls’ Night In will look a little different, but there has never been a more important time to stay connected with the girls in your life.
Our focus on the night is about connection, community and education!
This event has traditionally been in person, but
that’s okay because we still want to connect and talk to you all about the
importance of us hosting a Girls Night In.
This event has been consistent to La Trobe Accommodation Services over the years, from when I was a Ressie to a Student Leader and now even working from Accommodation.
It has held a little more importance to me personally over the last two years because in late 2018 my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer – and last year at the event she came and talked about her experience of being a breast cancer survivor!
Did you know – everyday 44 women in Australia are diagnosed?
Did you know - the goal is to have 0 deaths by 2030 to breast cancer?
Whilst we may not be able to get in the same room for this event doesn’t mean we can connect and educate ourselves on this topic!
